Navigate the menu control "File->Open".

Navigate your hard drive to the "BLUE" folder. Remember how we did things backwards last time, now we are going to do them forwards. It may seem backwards now, but this is actually the correct way to do this.

Select the file ending with "nn30.tif".

Click on the "Open" button to open the file.

Click on the image for a larger view.

Remember that this is the "RED" image, not the "BLUE"! The "RED" image is the darkest, and the "BLUE" image is the lightest. That's how I keep them straight. I know it's confusing, but that's just the way it is. "GREEN" doesn't matter because it's in the middle.

Click on the image for a larger view.

Press the "Ctrl A" on the keyboard to select the entire image.

Press the "Ctrl C" on the keyboard to copy the entire selection to the clipboard. i.e. the entire image.

Navigate the menu control again, "File->New".

You should get the now familiar dialog box shown below. Recall that the "Width", "Height", and "Color Mode" parameters are set according to what is in the clipboard. So these values are set according to the image you just copied with the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl C". This happens automatically So you will need to change the "Color Mode" to "RGB Color". You don't have to do this, because you can correct for it in the next step, but it is slightly faster.

If you did not set the "Color Mode" in the previous step to "RGB Color", then you will need to do it now.

Navigate the menu control "Image->Mode->RGB Color".

Switch the tab from the floating "Layers" tool window to the tab for the floating "Channels" tool window. Do this by simply clicking on the "Channels" tab shown in the image below.

Click on the "Red" channel as shown below.

Press "Ctrl V" on the keyboard to paste the clipboard into this one channel alone.
