Below you can see that I have really finished the selection refinement to include only the oceans.

NOTE: This took me almost all day long! For some areas it might take you even longer! In the worst case, expect to spend a whole week on refining your selection to include just the water.

Example areas that may have this problem, are, Certain parts of Florida where it is nearly impossible to determine the difference between wet-lands and actual water-ways. The water-ways are many and intricate. Working your way through these is EXTREMELY time consuming, and each tile will take as much as a week, possibly slightly more! That is why we need more people working on this! I can't do it alone! Not just any people we need good people who understand what this is all about!

Now that the water is completely selected, click on the "WaterBrightness" Action in the floating "Actions" tool window.

Click on the small play icon at the bottom of the floating "Actions" tool window. The water will brighten to look like the image below.

Navigate the menu control "Select->Inverse" or press the "Shift Ctrl I" key combination on the keyboard. The selection set will change from water to land, and exact inverse of the previous selection.

Click on the "Land Color" action in the floating "Actions" tool window.

Click on the small play icon at the bottom of the floating "Actions" tool window. The land should change to a slightly brighter green/tropical forest looking color.

Note: the image below still shows the drab color prior to running the command.

Make sure you save your selection set before saving the file. To do this navigate the menu control "Select->Save Selection".

Title it either "Land Selection" or "Water Selection" depending on what it is that you have selected at the time. Remember you can always simply invert the selection to get the other, at any time.

Navigate the menu control "File->Save As..."

Navigate your hard drive to find the appropriate place to save this file. You will need to save it as a "Photoshop .psd" file. That way the saved file can contain your saved selection set.

Give it the Path###Row### designation as appropriate. This will help you to keep track of the different tiles as you are developing them, and to keep them separate from other regions of development across the entire LandSAT development team and project as we share files between us.

Click the "Save" button to save the file.

If you are just linking here to save your selection, then return here to continue the process of refining your selection set. Recall that if you want to save your selection again, you will need to do this process again, but when you re-save the "Photoshop .psd" file, you will only need to navigate the menu control "File->Save" NOT "File->Save As..."

Return to the selection refining page.

The image below you can finally see the bright tropical forest green/yellow/brown that I was referring to earlier. Now we are done with the Yellow-Blue filter. It's time for the Magenta-Blue filter.
