You will be taken to the following screen:
Click on the "SRTM, WRS2 Tiles" on the left. Make sure you are using the zoom tool upper left.
I usually grab the pull down upper right and change it to the larger window size so I can see what I'm doing better.
At that point the map usually updates itself. If it does not, click on "Update Map" Right Center.
